Helping People

LifeBridge Partnership is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities live their best possible lives. We have many cherished partners that help us carry out our mission. One such partner is the United Way of Greater St. Louis. This year the United Way is celebrating a century of helping people.

Over the past century the United Way of Greater St. Louis has mobilized our community with one goal in mind – helping people live their best possible lives. Since 1999, LifeBridge Partnership has been honored to be a United Way partner agency.

United Way’s annual campaign is upon us and will run from September 6 through the end of October. As it does each year, this campaign gives our community the chance to come together to sustain a strong safety net of nonprofits. These nonprofits help our community thrive by providing our families, friends and neighbors a place to turn in times of need.

The United Way recognizes that no single agency can serve every person in need. The dollars generously given are allocated to more than 160 Safety Net agencies, such as LifeBridge Partnership. These safety net agencies target specific areas of need. Through this network of nonprofits, 1 million people in 16 counties throughout Missouri and Illinois find the assistance they need. That’s 1 in 3 people in our region impacted by funded services that use their United Way allocation to:

• Provide food and shelter to position people for a better tomorrow

• Establish financial stability to promote long-term success

• Foster learning so kids reach their full potential

• Improve health so kids grow and develop & adults can live a full and productive life

• Strengthen communities to enhance lives and provide necessary tools to thrive

LifeBridge serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that create barriers to accessing the community and experiencing community life. Our partnership with United Way ensures clients can overcome barriers by learning essential skills to navigate the community, to advocate for themselves, and to build healthy relationships. These skills help our clients reach their full potential while experiencing a meaningful and inclusive community life.

And, when moments matter, the United Way mobilizes quickly to ensure nonprofits can assist people in crisis due to emergencies and catastrophic events such as the pandemic or recent flooding. Finally, the United Way supports our community with professional learning opportunities for nonprofit employees and capacity building grants.

Join me in supporting not only LifeBridge Partnership, but our entire region by giving to the United Way of Greater St. Louis 2022 campaign. For more information or to donate, visit: give
