Fun and Fellowship

A daily dose of fun and fellowship goes a long way toward well-being. Whether these are found within the family setting, at school (yes - it’s almost back to school time!), at work or in the community, it’s integral to overall well-being.

For some, planning a bit of fun and fellowship comes naturally, for others (like me) it never hurts to borrow a few ideas. And, August “holidays and observances” offer many! These are just a few:

August 1: Bake a pie and share it with family and friends to celebrate Homemade Pie Day.

August 4: Gather all your friends for a water balloon fight on National Water Balloon Day!

August 8: National Frozen Custard Day - the perfect day to visit Ted Drewes!

August 9: Join a book club on National Book Lovers Day.

August 10: National Spoil Your Dog Day…isn’t that every day?

August 12: Travel to KC to watch the Cardinals play the Royals on Baseball Fans Day.

August 16: It’s National Bratwurst Day - celebrate with a BBQ!

August 17: Show some love to LifeBridge Partnership on National Nonprofit Day!!

August 18: National Ice Cream Day - ice cream is the perfect treat for a hot summer day!

August 21: Spread cheer by volunteering at a nursing home on National Senior Citizens Day

At LifeBridge Partnership, we are all about fun and fellowship! We cultivate social well-being and bring a sense of belonging to youth and adults with disabilities through a variety of community-based recreation and enrichment activities. We ensure individuals have the support, encouragement and assistance they need to build a meaningful community life.
