Spring Safety Tips

As the weather warms up, people are starting to head outside for more adventures. That includes all of us at LifeBridge Partnership. While we enjoy all that spring has to offer, it’s important to be prepared and stay safe. Whether you’re going for a walk in the park, heading to a picnic, or exploring a local trail, a little preparation can go a long way in making every outing fun and worry-free.

So, I thought it was appropriate to offer some simple but important spring safety reminders for participants, families, and staff:

☀️ Sun Smarts

Even on cloudy days, UV rays can cause sunburns.

  • Wear sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply every 2 hours.

  • Bring a hat and sunglasses for extra protection.

  • Choose light, breathable clothing that covers arms and legs if needed.

💧 Stay Hydrated

Warmer days mean we need more water.

  • Bring a reusable water bottle on every outing.

  • Take water breaks often, especially during active play or walks.

🚦 Community Navigation

Stick together, follow rules and use good common sense.

  • Always use crosswalks and obey pedestrian signals.

  • Walk with a buddy and stay alert.

  • Consider safe behaviors for community transportation and large venues.

🐝 Be Nature Aware

Enjoy nature—just be aware of what’s around you.

  • Watch out for bees and bugs—consider bug spray if needed.

  • Stay on walking paths to avoid tripping hazards or muddy areas.

  • Be careful around water features like ponds or fountains.

👟 Dress for Spring Weather

Spring can be unpredictable—layers and rain gear are your friend!

  • Check the weather before heading out.

  • Bring a light jacket or raincoat if it might be chilly or wet.

  • Make sure shoes are comfortable and safe for walking or playing.

Make the most of this beautiful season! Get outside, stay safe, and enjoy all the things our community has to offer.
