LifeBridge Partnership has the honor of recognizing an individual that has given selflessly of their time and love to our participants and organization, and this year our Volunteer of the Year truly is, selfless.

Kim Christian is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet.  A regular volunteer at LifeBridge day camps for youth participants, Kim first found out about LifeBridge through her cousin.  As Kim tells it, after one camp she was sold.

“Kim has never missed a camp. When one camp is over, she is asking when the next one is,” explains Heather Ward, Camp Director at LifeBridge Partnership.  “She has even made volunteering a family and friend affair.  She always comes with what is known as ‘Kim’s crew’.” Referring to Kim’s family and friends that she encourages to volunteer with her, and there’s no question why “Kim’s crew continues to grow year after year.

“She plays hard, works hard, laughs hard, and loves others with every fiber of her being.”

“Kim never hesitates to take the opportunity to volunteer and make camp the most fun experience for everyone.”  A member of “Kim’s crew”, Anna Laughlin, is excited to attend camp and see the same kids year after year.  “It’s great to see the smiles on their faces.  It fills you with joy knowing that you are positively impacting their lives.”

Kim has described volunteering at LifeBridge camps as “life-changing”, but because of her electric smile and the love that she spreads, her life isn’t the only one that’s changed.  She truly blesses each and every life she touches.  Kim’s daughter Emma calls her “the most encouraging and caring person I know. How could you not love Kim Christian?”

And to that Emma we have no response.  Kim Christian is the 2014 Volunteer of the Year and we look forward to seeing her and her “crew” at the next camp.

Thank you, Kim.

With love, from LifeBridge Partnership.

Kim is my cousin and began to volunteer with LifeBridge after my son Heath started participating in the young adult activities and camp. It means so much to me to see Kim, her daughters Emma and Heather, niece Olivia and the rest of Kim’s Crew giving their time and interacting with LifeBridge participants. Kim really does have s heart of gold and you can tell she cares about our kids. She can put a smile on anyone. Thanks for all you do Kim and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Kim for quite some time and I couldn’t agree more with Emma! Thanks to Kim, my son, James joined her crew this spring break and loved every minute. He is excited to be joining in on the summer camps.
