It’s hard to believe it’s already August and school is in session. Our two LifeBridge Camps are behind providing many fond memories. The adults in our Out & About program have enjoyed a summer full of outdoor activities such as picnics, concerts, and sporting events. Planning for the SPARK Club after school enrichment program is in full swing. And, the final details of our annual John D. McGurk’s golf tournament benefitting LifeBridge Partnership are falling into place.
Of course, it wasn’t all summer fun. For 91 years, we have worked with clients to help them develop skills and access community opportunities so they could achieve a meaningful community life. This kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from hard work and careful consideration of the future. This summer we embarked on two projects that will guide our future work: strategic planning and a program review with Insight Partners. While both projects guide us through self-reflection, establishing priorities, and goal setting, they each have a distinct focus.
Through our strategic planning process we are considering broader topics and long-term goals such as the changing landscape of fundraising, growing to serve more individuals with disabilities, and a social enterprise to support the mission. Our project with Insight Partners has us focused on our “why” to clearly define not only our mission but what it means to achieve it and provide ways to measure our success. Many thanks to the clients, families, LifeBridge Friends, staff, and community members who have contributed to these projects – we look forward to serving this community many years into the future!
